Throughout my formative years, I never deliberately considered what career direction I should pursue. However, as a young child, I devoted extensive time in natural settings constructing shelters from saplings and decorating them with balsam fir boughs alongside a treasured friend. It became evident that I harbored a genuine enthusiasm for design. Although I possessed Barbie dolls, I concentrated the majority of my efforts on fabricating multi-level residences for them using encyclopedias as building components. When I entered high school, my interest in traditional academic subjects waned, so when my English instructor suggested vocational training, I readily accepted his recommendation. At first, I perceived this as an indication of his skepticism regarding my intellectual capacity, but the truth was that his teaching methodology simply didn't resonate with how I learned best. Consequently, I performed exceptionally well in my design class. My English teacher was astonished when I received a scholarship for continued education. He promptly informed the school board that my scholarship was intended for vocational college rather than a conventional university. The vocational school administrator advocated for my qualification to the board, demonstrating that my technical drafting abilities directly applied to my interior design studies, thereby validating my college funding. Irrespective of how the scholarship matter concluded, I remained dedicated to design. My drafting course had revealed my inherent capability for spatial visualization, and I progressed with assurance. The most significant experience during college occurred when one of my English professors encouraged me to consider writing, acknowledging my natural capacity for storytelling and expressive language. Following my high school journey, I devoted myself to design. Yet it proved profoundly rewarding to recognize I wasn't nearly as intellectually constrained as I had been led to believe. It represented a concealed blessing; I discovered I could accomplish anything. I am firmly convinced that persistence and resolve surmount every challenge. As one of merely 40 certified designers throughout Maine, I deliver exceptional expertise and a demonstrated track record of solving complex design challenges on every assignment. What genuinely distinguishes me is my talent for identifying concealed problems that clients haven't yet recognized—the fundamental issues quietly eroding their contentment with their living spaces.
